The choir of children sing their song...

Ohohoho it's that time of year again!!! Time for giving and receiving and asking your parents for endless band merchandise... Christmas! Or whatever holiday that doesn't offend you ;) Wonderful Christmastime has always played in department stores and radios all my life, but I actually never knew it was written by the legend himself, Sir Paul McCartney! This song is, unfortunately, one of the last songs that Wings ever recorded together because this was from the last album they created as a band. You know, I love Wings very much. And I'm not talking about the food. But that can be saved for a different post.
I really like the music video for this very much. Paul looks great being almost 40 here, and Linda just completes him, the ever lovely Linda!

Anyways, I'm just trying to spread a bit of the holiday spirit to my friends of the Interwebs! I'll be back soon; in the meantime, I hope you are all simply having a wonderful Christmastime!

John: "Watch this." Paul: "Oh yeah?!"

In the album Rubber Soul, John creates one of his best songs in his lifetime, "In My Life". It's a sweet song tribute to his loved ones, both "dead" and "living".

In my opinion, it's one of the greates songs of ALL TIME.
Rolling Stone magazine apparently agrees with me. This song is ranked 23rd in "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
John is a beast!! :D
BUT...
Paul isn't going down without a fight.
In the next album, Revolver, Paul writes "Here, There and Everywhere". It almost has the same concept, it being a romantic love song and everything.

When I first saw this 'connection', I thought that Paul wrote this because he wanted to defeat (or at least be even with) John in the love song-writing category. xD Well, you know Paul...always has to be the best at everything... :)

So what do you think is the REAL reason Paul wrote "Here, There and Everywhere"? xD

Should've been an A-Side...

Paul McCartney is one of the best singer/songwriters like, EVAR! Even without John Lennon as his partner-in-crime, his lyrics with Wings are still great to me. One of his Wings songs that I've been listening to a lot recently is Daytime Nighttime Suffering, a B-Side to Goodnight Tonight. While all of his A-Sides kick butt, I think Daytime Nighttime Suffering kicks butt AND groin. ;D

Here's the A-Side, Goodnight Tonight:

So...what's your opinion? Which song do you think should be the A/B-side? Tell me and the rest of the world your thoughts by commenting below!
